Aiming at the problem that conventional unit air conditioning systems can not meet the comfortable requirement in trains, provides a new idea that applying variable refrigerant flow rate (VRF) air conditioning systems to sleeper railway cars. Analyses the characteristics of VRF air conditioning systems and presents the system design and electric control scheme. Obtains the air distribution in the compartment of sleeper railway cars by the CFD simulation and experiment.
